Royal
Royal was an elderly horse who was saved from the slaughter pipeline. This emaciated gelding was a walking skeleton and it is beyond cruel that anyone who owned him and a kill buyer who had him never gave him the peaceful, dignified ending he so deserved. Royal had NO teeth which could have aided in him being able to eat (chew and digest) normally at all. He was lame from old injuries including calcification in his right front knee. He likely had Cushings disease and was clearly so used up to be in this condition, there should be a place in hell for everyone who turned their back on this sweet boy. He was given a body score of 1, the lowest possible, by our equine vet. Royal was humanely euthanized as there was no way to rehabilitate him nutritionally (for those who think soaked feed/mush would work, it could not; he would have choked on it and been unable to keep enough going into his mouth as his tongue was not held in place due to lack of teeth).
