Kit Kat (ADOPTED)
Kit Kat is one of over 55 horses rescued from abusive situations or the slaughter pipeline from late September 2019 through early November 2019. Allegedly she had been part of a tandem of ponies, all others having found some sort of placement except her. Her hooves and other basic care had clearly fallen by the wayside. She is a very sweet and friendly small pony mare.
It will take several trims and time before her hooves return to normal shape and function. Before her initial trim, X-rays were taken to ensure the interior hoof structure was not damaged. Kit Kat was happily cantering and bucking around her pen not long after that first trim! She will receive updated dental and other care after her quarantine period is over.
Update 7/13/20
KitKat has finished her rehabilitation phase and is in training evaluation. She is staying with a qualified home which is working with her. She will be officially adopted by this home in July 2020.
