Woody
Woody was rescued between Christmas and New Year’s in 2017 from a failing sanctuary in Florida. He came into the rescue with untreated skin fungus (face, legs), overdue dental issues, arthritis, thrush and cancer on a hind leg. Upon evaluation and results from a skin scrape, he has a cancerous tumor on the leg and sadly it is a very aggressive form of cancer. Woody has a large scar on the left side of his neck from past treatment of cancerous sarcoids. He is a sweet, well-behaved horse with a low-key personality and will remain at the rescue for the rest of his life.
Woody was humanely put down in 2018 when his health issues, including an aggressive form of cancer, diminished his quality of life. We were glad to have the opportunity to help this sweet older horse in the time he had left.
