Sundance joined the rescue with his friend Captain Jack in July 2018. He was surrendered by his owners who have medical issues which were preventing them from keeping the horses worked with as needed. Sundance (aka, Sunny) is a big Percheron gelding with a friendly disposition. He is trained for driving and will undergo evaluation after settling in.
Sundance’s dental and farrier care has been updated. He is up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming. After settling into his new surroundings, Sunny went into training evaluation. He is trained to drive but not to ride. He will do best with an intermediate or better driver with draft horse experience.
Sundance has been fully evaluated and we had a trainer teach him to ride under saddle. He is a laid-back horse who can do walk with some trotting under saddle or light driving. Best suited to an experienced owner with draft horse knowledge and direct care.
