Captain Jack arrived at the rescue in July 2018 with his companion Sundance. Their owners each had medical conditions which were preventing them from being able to continue caring for and working with their horses. Captain Jack is trained to ride but did mostly driving with his former owners.

His dental and farrier care have been updated. He is up-to-date on vaccines and deworming. Captain Jack finished his training evaluation and is ready for a qualified new home with an intermediate or better driver/rider with previous draft horse experience.
