Suki was removed from the slaughter pipeline in July 2023. No doubt she was probably once “loved” for her color and clearly a sweet disposition. But over time she was clearly worked hard enough to leave her leg joints with injuries, leaving her with pain and joint deformities due to arthritis and soft tissue damage. At some point, she was used as a broodmare, possibly until she could no longer be bred. Then she was tossed aside to a low end auction and fell into the wrong hands prior to being found and rescued. Suki received veterinary evaluation like all incoming rescues do; and was retired as a sanctuary horse.
