Evie was rescued in October 2024 where it was reported she had gone down in a trailer. She was injured in the left hind stifle, hamstring and inner thigh area where massive swelling was apparent. Her left hind hoof dragged when walking. She also had numerous wound/scrape areas with further injuries difficult to assess due to prominence of swollen areas.

Veterinary exam indicated 4/5 lameness; the left stifle was carrying severe effusion. The medial collateral ligament was non-palpable, but the middle and lateral ligaments could be felt. Due to the degree of swelling and tissue depth, initial Xrays could not be taken.

Diagnostics revealed a complete rupture of the medial collateral ligament of the left hind stifle with more soft tissue damage affecting structures and/or the meniscus.
