Donovan
Donovan was rescued in October 2024 to keep him out of the slaughter pipeline.
This handsome stallion had been part of a bucking stock outfit. It’s likely he was forced to be used up at bucking events, but also breeding mares to add more horses to this unnecessary, cruel “sport.”
Donovan appeared to be completely unhandled and clearly had been injured in the past from being roped on his right hind leg.
His chest area was very swollen (photos don’t quite depict how seriously) with a large wound from unknown cause(s). The wound had never been treated and after careful evaluation of this and other factors leading to a very poor prognosis, Donovan was humanely euthanized.
