Beaux was saved from a kill auction in Colorado. He was rehabilitated and later stayed at a private farm when FRER relocated its headquarters to Florida. Beaux had old injuries most likely from a bad fall and hard use. One of those injuries resulted in damage to his left eye and the veterinarian said it would be best to remove it. After other rehabilitative care, he was able to be lightly ridden for a time.
Beaux gets along with other horses and does well with experienced handlers who understand his limitation. Arthritic changes resulting from past hard use have been manageable with supplements and other therapies, but eventually it was determined Beaux should not be ridden. He was retired to the FL farm where weather conditions and softer ground are better for his overall well-being especially arthritic conditions.
