Annie
Annie was rescued in June 2019 from a low-end auction. While people viewing her felt she would be a super nice kids horse, our rescue coordinator visited her in the auction pen and immediately heard the “crackling” sound of her knee joints when she moved. Annie is a sweet, easy-to-handle mare who needs some updated care, including X-rays of her knee joints and any other lameness diagnostics. It is most likely she will be retired with the rescue as “companion only” homes are difficult to find.
Update: Annie is being retired with the rescue after X-rays were taken of her knees and further evaluation completed on her lameness issues. While she does have arthritic changes and shows a degree of lameness even at the walk, for now Annie seems content hanging out with AJ and other horses “just being a horse” that is well cared for.
