Lilly
Lilly was rescued in February 2015. She was intercepted in a parking lot in WV before being transported for slaughter. She was lame upon arrival, but showed improvement with chiropractic treatments. Lilly was thin and had a hoof issue due to racing plates being left on too long and allegedly one “fell off” leaving a large chip in a front hoof.
In time, she was in good weight, became riding sound and was evaluated to be ridden by intermediate or better riders. She has a good personality and could do well as a trail horse or possibly lower level hunter under saddle classes. Lilly has been ridden over ground poles and small cross rail fences (18″ and under), but might not be capable of being a show horse other than some schooling shows.

UPDATE: Lilly was adopted in January 2017. Sadly she ended up having an accident in pasture which left her with a severe injury to her left front hoof. The adopter ensured she had the best care to recover as fully as possible.
In 2020, Lilly was returned to the rescue when the adopter was laid off from work. Lilly was retired to live out her life with the rescue at the CO location.
