Wild Horse & Burro Advocate Passes Away

We mourn the loss of a great wild horse and burro advocate with the passing of Congressman Raul Grijalva. His legacy will be carried onward!

It is with tremendous sadness that wild horse and burro advocates mourn the death of Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva, a long-time and steadfast advocate for America’s wild places and wildlife.

Congressman Grijalva offered unwavering support on behalf of wild horses. And just as noteworthy was his wish to save “the little burros”. Support for wild horses and burros was only part of his deep commitment to protecting America’s public lands along with the numerous and amazing animals that live freely on them.

Congressman Grijalva ensured that America’s wild horses and burros had a voice in the halls of Congress and worked with other members of Congress to protect them. His leadership on environmental and conservation issues as well as his compassion for the most vulnerable provides an enduring legacy.

It is hoped that many will uphold and continue Congressman Grijalva’s dedication, compassion and efforts on behalf of our endangered wild horses and burros, and his other great work on behalf of others.
