Misty

ADOPTED. Misty was rescued in September 2016 from a kill buyer. She had been purchased from a low-end auction which routinely sells horses to slaughterhouse buyers. She is approximately 12 years old and it was indicated she had been trained to ride. Misty has a scar from an old injury to a hind leg, and also stringhalt (involuntary jerking/lifting of the leg) which appears to be “mechanical” in nature rather than from any neurological cause. After evaluation, it is clear she is well trained under saddle and the stringhalt shows improvement when she is doing light exercise. We’ve consulted with two veterinarians and provided acupuncture treatments to help improve her function. Misty is a very nice horse and the vets agree she is okay to ride for pleasure/easy trails. Misty is calm for a young rider under supervision or an intermediate junior/adult rider. ADOPTED.
