Ophelia
Ophellia was rescued before entering the slaughter pipeline in April 2026. She was found 3-legged lame apparently from an older injury along with exacerbations from those who left her neglected and abused.
She was very scared and needed time to decompress in a safe environment before the vet could provide a fuller evaluation.
Ophelia was without options for an improved quality of life due to the extent of her acute, long-term lameness and other health issues discovered. She was humanely euthanized in a quiet, calm environment.
It is disgusting and grossly inhumane that this mare was thrown aside at some low end auction to end up within a short time frame of heading to slaughter.
