Midnight was rescued in October 2015 in southern Virginia. She was located in a backyard with no pasture and apparently had been left by a family member to an elderly family member who had no idea how to care for a horse. We believe she had past experience with arena and trail riding.

Midnight’s initial rehabilitation went well and she was capable of light riding. Over time, she required further evaluation for progressing arthritic changes to her left front knee and advancing ring bone in her right hind fetlock joint. These issues stemmed from older injuries. After diagnostics and further consultation with two veterinarians, she was retired to companion status. She is currently fostered with two older mares.
