Horses for Adoption

AS OF 2023 FRONT RANGE EQUINE RESCUE’S HORSES ARE RETIRED AND LIVING OUT THEIR LIVES WITH THE RESCUE DUE TO SPECIAL NEEDS AND OTHER LIMITATIONS MAKING THEM UNLIKELY TO FIND SUCCESSFUL PLACEMENT.

WE CONTINUE TO ASSIST MANY AT-RISK HORSES WITH AN EMPHASIS ON THOSE IN THE MOST DIRE SITUATIONS AND CONDITIONS. THESE HORSES ARE UNLIKELY TO REHABILITATE TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN COMPANION ONLY WITH SPECIAL MEDICAL CARE NEEDS AND WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PLACEMENT.

PLEASE CONTACT OTHER RESCUES/SANCTUARIES IN YOUR AREA IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO ADOPT A RESCUE HORSE. THANK YOU.

Horses for adoption are ONLY located in Colorado; the Florida rescue horses are retired and living out their lives at the rescue as they have a variety of special needs and other health issues.

Currently, there are no horses available for adoption. Horses in the rehabilitation phase will be placed on this page if they become available for placement into a qualified home. The adoption application and rules must be submitted prior to any appointment to see an available horse.

Below are some of the horses with recent placements. “ADOPTED” by the horse’s name means that horse is no longer available. Please click here to learn more about our adoption process.

Many of our horses are retired, living out their lives with Front Range Equine Rescue. Click here to meet some of them.
