Adopt A Horse
Please note: visits must be scheduled in advance. Horses are kept at various locations and arrangements with caretakers’ schedules must be worked out. Thank you!
Horses available for adoption:
Front Range Equine Rescue (FRER) horses available for adoption range from companion horses to horses suitable for different levels of riding activity. Horses are available for immediate adoption unless otherwise noted. Click on a horse’s name to learn more.

Companion - cannot be ridden:
Light to medium riding – no jumping or other competitive activities:
- Butterscotch - QH cross mare, about 15 years old, dun, intermediate rider for trail.
- Shammy - grey Arab mare from a kids’ camp; mid-twenties, intermediate rider for light trail.
- Hustler - super nice bay QH/TB gelding, age 25, advanced beginner for trail, light arena work okay.

Obtain adoption form:
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out the application, read/sign the adoption rules and return the forms to us for review. Please indicate what horse or horses you are interested in; we will also advise you of other horses that might be a good fit for your needs and experience. FRER’s adoption/training coordinator will contact you to set up an appointment to meet prospective horses.
